About the Facility

Sedron is proud to announce the Indiantown Upcycling Facility, a regional biosolids processing and renewable energy facility in Indiantown, Florida. The project is designed to convert biosolids from wastewater treatment plants into biofuel, a valuable energy resource, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional disposal methods.

Using Sedron’s Varcor® technology, the facility will dry biosolids to create a biofuel that will be used on-site in a biomass boiler to generate electricity. This allows for a carbon-negative, net energy positive operation, producing enough electricity to power the facility while supplying excess renewable energy to the grid.

As an industry leader, Sedron developed this cutting-edge facility to provide long-term infrastructure for South Florida utilities, delivering operational certainty, committed capacity, environmental performance, and predictable costs without requiring capital investment from participating municipalities.

Once operational, the facility will serve as a standalone, weather-resilient infrastructure asset, providing long-term, reliable biosolids management capacity for the region. It will reduce reliance on land application and long-distance hauling while complying with evolving environmental regulations and lowering overall greenhouse gas emissions.
